The Next Mona Lisa's

Hearing the name, "Mona Lisa," every student knows exactly which painting you are talking about, and can clearly picture it in their minds. I have chosen 3 paintings that I also feel should have the same reactions from students as the "Mona Lisa" does.

The 1st painting that I chose is called, "A Midday," painted by Russian artist Nikolai Galakhov in the year 1980. I chose this painting, because I think that it's a really beautiful, and since there is so much detail, I think that this piece of artwork should be studied by students trying to learn shadowing techniques and how to paint reflections.

The 2nd painting that I chose is called, "Rabbit in the Moon," painted by American artist Devin Abrams in the year 2009. I chose this painting, because I feel that sometimes, when I'm studying art, it's only art that forms specific shapes. I think that contemporary art is just as important, because I think that people should learn how to see things differently in contemporary art as well as in art that shows specific shapes.

Finally, the 3rd painting that I've chosen is called, "First Love," painted by American artist ABOVE in the year 2009. I chose this painting, because I think that people should learn how to paint using both animation and realistic-looking artwork in the same painting.
